I’m sending a huge thank you to everyone who came out to our family reunion on Saturday, September, 26, 2026 and to those who couldn’t make it but were with us in spirit! The Family Fun Day celebration proved that when our family works together, we can truly accomplish great things.

Good evening, Coley-Avent family and friends! 
This is your 2026–2027 President, Shanetha Lyons.
First, I want to sincerely thank each and every person who came out and helped make our 2026 Family Reunion such a memorable one. I truly hope you enjoyed yourselves! We put a lot of love, time, thought, and effort into trying to have something for everyone, from our youngest family members to our elders. Seeing everyone together, laughing, fellowshipping, and simply enjoying family made it all worthwhile.
And to those who missed us this year — we definitely missed you! I truly hope you are already making plans to join us in 2027. To everyone who attended, please continue encouraging and reaching out to other family members so that we can make next year’s gathering even stronger.

To everyone who attended, please continue encouraging and reaching out to other family members so that we can make next year’s gathering even stronger.As we begin looking toward 2027, I do want to ask for your help. In order for us to continue this tradition and build upon what we accomplished in 2026, we need more family members willing to assist with the planning committee, food preparation, setup, cleanup, breakdown, and other areas that make an event like this possible.
A lot goes on behind the scenes, and additional hands would truly make a difference. I enjoyed putting my heart into this year’s reunion, but for us to continue growing and elevating our family reunion, I definitely need more of our family to step forward and be a part of the process.
We are also going to begin working on securing our 2027 Family Reunion date early, so everyone will have a little less than a year to plan ahead, request time off from work, make travel arrangements, and prepare to be there. Once the date is confirmed, we will make sure everyone receives it as soon as possible.
My hope is that 2027 will be even bigger, better, and more memorable — but it will take all of us working together to make that happen.
Thank you again for the love, support, participation, and memories we created in 2026. I truly enjoyed myself, and I hope you did too.
Let’s keep our family connected, keep this tradition alive, and continue building something that our children and future generations will look forward to for years to come.
